Well I wonder how long the post election euphoria will stall the crash? Once the consumers realize their vote won't have any effect for about 6 to 10 years the desperation might begin to set in. If that happens on a larger scale our economy will begin to come apart at the seems. Then what will the liberal bleeding hearts do with their feel good approach to government? The rest of the world is watching like never before. "Can't we all just get along". Sure we can all get along as long as other foreign countries don't decide to challenge our weakness. What then? I suppose we are going to try the milk and cookies approach to terrorism? I suppose the only problem with that scenario is at the milk and cookie party some of the guest will probably be armed and dangerous. What then, hit them with the whole plate of cookies and splash milk in their eyes? That ought to show them just how tough we are!
I still think the only way out of our mutual situation is to support small business growth. That will create jobs and begin to restore consumer confidence. Once we all get over the fact that some of you went into debt to far and couldn't take care of yourselves in a deep recession we will begin to work again. Maybe not at your old job but a new more realistic profession. One that doesn't involve cheating the public. Our nation became great because we were willing to build better products with skilled labor than any other country after WWII. Now their are other countries with a much more dedicated work force and they are building much superior products to our meager efforts. I own a business that I have attempted to take green. It is cutting edge for what I do but not very many manufacturing industries have been able to do this. The consequences of the environmental movement has placed an unfair competitive balance in favor of other nations. Their is no quick fix, we loose. Eventually things will work out because we, as a people, will not just lay down and take it. I believe we will begin to build green industries that will provide products the rest of the world will steal and build cheaper and better. That has been the pattern for the last 40 years or so. The outlook does not hold a picture that will ever be as prosperous as this generation has experienced. From here on out we are going to have to all work harder for less money. The peak has been reached, it's down hill from here for quite awhile.
